Emotron VFX
The Emotron VFX variable frequency drive, leveraging cutting-edge technology, builds a highly efficient and safe operational defense for equipment, especially excelling in the startup phase. It uses advanced variable frequency control algorithms to significantly reduce the starting current of equipment. Compared to traditional starting methods, it can greatly lower the current peak value. This advantage not only means it can accommodate smaller-sized fuses and cables, effectively reducing equipment installation costs, but also reduces energy loss caused by large current surges, improving energy utilization efficiency. When facing high-resistance loads, the torque of the Emotron VFX can quickly rise, powerfully and stably overcoming initial peak loads, ensuring smooth equipment startup and preventing motor stall or equipment damage caused by excessive load.

Functional features
- Optimal operation and full control
Direct torque control responds very quickly, eliminating jitter caused by sudden load changes. The built-in shaft power monitor protector and unique load curve protection function can immediately detect any conditions that may cause inefficiency or damage, thereby protecting your production process. Timely alarms and safe shutdown give you time to take preventive measures.
- User-friendly and reliable operation
Operating parameters can be set and displayed in units you are familiar with, such as – m/s, tons/hour, cycles/min, etc. – making monitoring more convenient and reliable. The detachable control panel has a copy function that can transfer settings to other VFX units. By pressing keys on the control panel, you can switch between local and remote control. Virtual connections of logic functions, comparators, and timers eliminate the need for cables or external I/O.
- Flexible and cost-effective installation
Integrated standalone 2.5-250 A units have an IP54 protection rating. The sturdy all-metal enclosure can be installed on-site, saving cabinet space and excessively long motor cables. Units from 300-1,500 A can be installed in a compact IP54-rated cabinet designed by emotron.
- Simplified maintenance
In case of process issues, a complete status report will be generated. You can quickly determine the cause and take corrective actions. With fewer mechanical parts and easy operation, the power module can be folded out for simplified maintenance.

- Additional Function Options
A series of tabs allow you to select the functions of emotron VFX according to specific needs and fully utilize this product based entirely on your requirements. Four different options can be used in combination.
- Crane Control
A crane I/O expansion board provides efficient walking, lifting, and speed control; and there is a safety system that activates the mechanical brake once a dangerous load is detected.
- Shorter Braking Time
A brake chopper provides extremely short braking time, which is a factory-installed option. This option can be combined with a brake reactor, the size of which can be selected according to specific application needs.
- Communication
Communication options include fieldbus communication using Profibus, DeviceNet, and Ethernet, as well as serial communication using RS232, RS485, and Modbus.
- Motor Protection
PTC and PT100 sensors can be connected to control motor temperature and provide process feedback without the need for transmitters.
- Encoder
An encoder can be connected for more precise speed control or deviation control in crane applications to enhance safety.
- Safe Stop
This option board is designed to prevent accidental start-up during mechanical maintenance, according to EN954-1 Category 3 standards. No contactor is required.
- Liquid Cooling
Units above 90 A provide liquid cooling. This reduces operating and maintenance costs, and the cabinet protection rating can exceed IP54.
- EMC Protection
First environment EMC filter as a factory-installed option.
- Reduced Harmonic Distortion
A 12-pulse rectifier is a cost-effective method to reduce harmonic current distortion. This reduces power losses in equipment such as transformers and cables and avoids the need for oversized equipment.
- Backup Power Supply
An external 24 V AC/DC power supply can power the control circuit to maintain communication and start the system when the three-phase AC power supply is disconnected. Provides communication hot standby in case of three-phase AC power failure.
